What remedial massage actually does
Remedial massage is a systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. It is not a relaxation massage with firmer pressure — it starts with a short movement check so the work goes where it will actually change something.
Whether you are recovering from training, managing an old injury, or carrying the postural strain of desk work, the aim is the same: release what is restricted, restore how the area moves, and give you two or three things to do between sessions so the change holds.
Three parts, every time.
- 1
Assessment
A short movement check to find what is actually driving the tension.
- 2
Treatment
Targeted deep-tissue work on the layers that need it — not everywhere, not for its own sake.
- 3
Aftercare
Two or three stretches or mobility drills to keep the change between sessions.

Before you book
Do I need to provide anything?
No. I bring the table, towels, oils and music. You need a clear floor space of roughly 2 × 2.5 metres and somewhere to wash my hands.
How much space do you need?
A massage table is about 1.9 m long; with room to move around it, a space of about 2 × 2.5 metres is plenty — a living room or bedroom usually works.
Can I claim on my health fund?
Remedial massage is claimable on most extras cover. I give you a receipt on the day and you claim through your fund's app.
Is 60 or 90 minutes better?
60 minutes suits one or two problem areas. 90 minutes lets me treat a full region and still finish with integration work — choose it if the tension is widespread or long-standing.
